Latitude announces the addition of Natalie Ward as Director of Legal Recruiting and Placement in its Atlanta office. Before joining Latitude, Ward served as General Counsel for Florida-based healthcare company BodyLogicMD and was previously in private practice at Alston & Bird in Charlotte, NC and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in Washington, D.C, where she practiced intellectual property law. Natalie received her B.S. from the University of Florida and her J.D. from Howard University School of Law.
“We are excited to add Natalie to our Atlanta team. Her prior BigLaw and in-house experience give her great insight into the goals and challenges of our attorney candidates and clients. She’s been in their shoes,” said Logan Ide, President of Latitude Atlanta. “Natalie will be a terrific resource for high-end attorneys in Georgia looking for highly-paid permanent or flexible engagement opportunities in the Atlanta market,” concluded Ide.
Ward is enthusiastic about coming on-board with Latitude. “I was attracted to Latitude because it offers the opportunity to create win-win solutions for over-burdened clients and experienced attorneys looking for a position that better aligns with their priorities. I’m looking forward to helping lawyers find rewarding positions that fit their unique career and lifestyle goals.”
Originally from Jamaica, Ward has previously lived and worked in Washington, D.C., Charlotte, N.C. and South Florida. She enjoys travel, making it a priority to take an extended exploration vacation to a new international destination each year – the more adventurous the better. She and her family live in the suburbs northwest of Atlanta so they can easily access hiking trails and the outdoors. Adding to her variety of experiences, before attending law school, Ward worked as a hematology and oncology nurse.
Ward will recruit peer-level attorneys with large law firm experience who will work as Latitude Attorneys on short-and long-term engagements with corporate law firm and legal department clients. Latitude’s associate- and partner-level attorneys add capacity to corporate in-house teams during major business events, periods of peak demand, and when an immediate new hire is not possible, which helps clients control costs and reduce work overload. Latitude also helps law firms meet surges in client demand, remain nimble, reduce their own attorneys’ burnout, cover during leaves of absences, and minimize fixed costs. Latitude engagements typically range from a few months to a few years.
Ward will also lead the recruitment of top attorneys for select permanent placements with law firms and in-house legal departments. Over the past six years, Latitude has served clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies and large corporate law firms, to fast-growing start-up companies and boutique law firms. Latitude attorneys and paralegals serve clients both on-site and remotely in a variety of practice areas, including ERISA, litigation, environmental, IP, healthcare, and corporate & securities. Latitude Atlanta launched in 2019 under the leadership of Ide, formerly an Atlanta-based general counsel and a private equity firm managing partner.
Latitude, a high-end legal services company with offices in Atlanta, Indianapolis, Miami and Nashville, provides peer-level attorneys and paralegals on an engagement basis to corporate legal departments and law firms, increasing flexibility while reducing costs.
