An Am Law-ranked law firm took on a large, multi-party commercial litigation matter for a Fortune 500 retailer. The case required significant attorney time across discovery, depositions, briefing, and motion practice, adding pressure to a litigation team already managing a full docket of active matters.
The practice group leader needed to quickly scale their team with experienced litigators to meet the forecast needs. At the same time, they were concerned about the ability to bring on top-quality attorneys in a short-time frame and cautious about building out a fixed cost infrastructure that might not be needed over time.
SOLUTION
The firm initially engaged two litigation attorneys from Latitude, then as the matter progressed and workload increased, the team expanded to include additional litigators and an attorney focused on discovery and document review. In total, seven Latitude professionals supported the practice group.
The attorneys brought experience in complex commercial litigation, including backgrounds at Am Law 10 and Am Law 20 firms and federal appellate clerkships. During the engagement, they worked alongside the firm’s litigation team on depositions and briefings, as well as motion practice, and other litigation matters as needs evolved.
With this support, the firm was able to meet the demands of a large, evolving case while maintaining flexibility ahead, without adding permanent staff.
