Publicly Traded Enterprise Software Company Adds Flexible Contracts and Employment Counsel

As business activity accelerated, a U.S.-based publicly traded enterprise software company found itself balancing two unrelated legal demands at the same time. Increased deal volume placed additional pressure on its commercial legal team, while a vacant employment counsel role created a temporary gap in another area of the department. Rather than adding permanent headcount during a period of transition, the company looked for a way to maintain momentum, support the business, and ensure its existing teams had the capacity to manage increased demands.

SOLUTION

The company addressed each need separately, engaging two experienced attorneys through Latitude whose backgrounds aligned with the work at hand.

A senior technology contracts attorney joined the commercial legal team to provide additional capacity, supporting a high volume of agreements, including SaaS, data processing, procurement, and other commercial contracts. With more than 25 years of experience handling complex technology transactions, he integrated quickly and continues to provide part-time support during periods of peak deal activity.

At the same time, an experienced employment attorney stepped into the vacant employment counsel role on an interim basis while the company completed its search for a permanent hire. She supported day-to-day employment counseling, disputes, and coordination with outside counsel, helping the legal department maintain continuity throughout the transition.

The approach allowed the legal department to maintain momentum across both commercial contracting and employment matters while making thoughtful long-term hiring decisions.
