Drawing on nearly two decades of legal practice experience, he partners with corporate legal departments and law firms, providing them with experienced attorneys for flexible engagements and permanent hires.
Before joining Latitude, David served as General Counsel of NioCorp Developments Ltd., a Nasdaq-listed critical minerals company, where he served as the principal legal advisor to the board and executive team on governance, securities, transactions, and enterprise risk. His in-house career also includes senior roles at two other public companies: Summit Materials, an NYSE-listed construction materials leader where he rose to SVP, Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Secretary, and Lumen Technologies, a Fortune 500 telecommunications company, where he served as Associate General Counsel.
David spent the first decade of his career in private practice, practicing at four law firms, from boutique firms in Louisiana, including Kean Miller LLP, to Am Law 200 firm Jackson Walker in Dallas, advising clients on M&A, corporate governance, finance, and general business matters. He has also taught the next generation of lawyers, serving as a full-time visiting professor at Mississippi College School of Law and as an adjunct professor of securities regulation at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, the University of Colorado Law School, and the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center.
Active in the profession, David is a former co-chair of the In-House Subcommittee of the American Bar Association’s Corporate Governance Committee and previously hosted “Conversations with GCs,” the American Bar Association’s #1 business law podcast of 2022.
David earned his LL.M. in Financial Regulation and Securities, with distinction, from Georgetown University Law Center, his J.D. from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Centenary College of Louisiana.
He lives in the Denver area with his wife and three kids and enjoys golf, chess, and co-creating books using generative AI.
