Attorney Senior Leadership Position (Government Agency)

Latitude is seeking an experienced attorney for a permanent government agency attorney position leading career attorneys at a government agency that handles sophisticated litigation and legal policy work. This is a senior leadership role that requires the ability to manage multiple teams of experienced attorneys, direct strategy for complex litigation, work collaboratively with senior government and private sector leaders, and navigate complex public policy matters. This position is based in Nashville, TN.

Candidates must have at least 10 years of successful experience as a law firm partner, federal or state government attorney, military JAG officer, corporate in-house counsel, and/or in a public policy role. Superb leadership, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills are crucial. Candidate must have impeccable reputation and outstanding references. Experience litigating or managing complex litigation in state and federal court is very desirable but not required. Likewise, experience with anti-trust, data privacy, healthcare law or healthcare public policy is desirable but not required. Criminal law experience is preferred. Experience managing complex legal matters is highly preferred.

This position may be particularly appealing for an attorney who has experience managing sophisticated matters who is interested in a leadership and strategy role with responsibility for high-profile matters that have a public policy impact.  

Requirements for the Attorney (In-House Counsel)

  • 10 or more years’ experience practicing law
  • Experience as a law firm partner, federal or state government attorney, military JAG officer, in-house counsel, public policy advisor, or similar type of attorney experience handling complex legal matters
  • Leadership experience (military or civilian)
  • Superb leadership, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Must be a member of the TN bar or eligible for admission to the TN Bar
  • Outstanding references and professional reputation
