Latitude, a fast-growing high-end legal services company with offices in ten major cities, is seeking to expand its presence in Florida by adding a Tampa attorney who is (or has been) a partner at a large corporate law firm and/or senior in-house counsel to launch, co-own and lead as president, a Latitude operating company based in Tampa. This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly successful, experienced, likable, and very well-respected Tampa attorney who wants to leave the practice of law to lead a company in Tampa as market president and an equity business partner, using our capital, proven model, established infrastructure, training and supporting corporate team.

As background, Latitude directly employs and provides attorneys, legal operations professionals, compliance officers, and paralegals to legal departments and law firms nationwide. Our specialty is providing our law firm and legal department clients practice-specific contract attorneys who have served as associates, counsel, and partners in Am Law firms and/or as in-house counsel in large corporate legal departments. We also assist many of our clients with permanent positions, including general counsel searches. Our clients range from Fortune Global 500 companies and Global 100 law firms to high-growth privately-held companies, major non-profits, government entities, and boutique law firms. All of Latitude’s market presidents are former BigLaw partners or senior in-house counsel with extensive community ties, practice experience and professional relationships in their respective markets. Opportunity

  1. Launch, lead, and manage Latitude’s Tampa operating company and office
  2. Serve as Latitude’s ambassador and client relations leader in Tampa and with your network nationwide
  3. Oversee a high-end team of attorneys
  4. Build on your years of legal industry experience and established relationships in Tampa
  5. Serve sophisticated clientele of senior in-house counsel & law firm partners

Responsibilities

  1. Develop business and manage client relationships
  2. Attract and hire your local supporting team
  3. Become the go-to connector and resource for leading attorneys
  4. Serve as Latitude’s Tampa company leader and brand ambassador
  5. Develop business and manage client relationships

Requirements

  1. Prior experience as a successful large law firm partner or senior in-house counsel
  2. Strong existing relationships with senior in-house counsel of large companies and partners at leading law firms in Tampa
  3. Sterling reputation with the Tampa bar and community
  4. Proven ability to serve sophisticated corporate legal departments
  5. Strong business development aptitude
  6. While this is a full-time executive position that offers flexibility and the ability to frequently work from a home office (WFH) / work remotely if desired, you must reside in the Greater Tampa area
  7. Prior AmLaw 200 Law Firm and/or large corporate legal department experience is highly preferred

We are looking for the right person and can be flexible so that you are able to exit your current role when it makes the most sense.

We place legal professionals in permanent, temporary, and flexible roles. Latitude Engaged Professionals are usually W2 employees of Latitude and, if located in the United States, are eligible for full benefits when working in roles for 20 hours or more per week, including complimentary Group Life, Long term disability, AD&D, and a qualified 401k plan (subject to a qualifying period).
