Calling all New York civil litigators! – Latitude is seeking a personal injury litigation attorney to join the growing team of a dynamic regional plaintiffs’ firm in New York. Interested candidates must have 4-6 years of personal injury litigation experience, preferably at plaintiffs’ firms. Excellent written and oral advocacy skills are a must, as is compassion for clients and being a team player; previous trial experience is a plus. Candidates must be licensed to practice and in good standing in New York.

Responsibilities of the Plaintiff Personal Injury Litigation Associate:
  • Litigate NY personal injury cases including automobile and premises liability cases
  • Work closely with clients, team and partners to develop factual and medical evidence for injury claims
  • Draft pleadings, discovery, motions and other filings with various NY state courts; conduct research on a variety of novel legal issues in state and federal cases; present and argue discovery motions
  • Manage the court approval process for wrongful death and minor cases, including drafting petitions, presenting those to the Court, and overseeing the full approval process
  • Prepare cases for pre-litigation, litigation, and settlement
  • Manage the filing of pleadings, tracking service of process, and assuring statute of limitations deadlines are met

Requirements for the Plaintiff Personal Injury Litigation Associate:
  • 4-6 years of personal injury litigation experience at a law firm; plaintiffs’ experience preferred
  • Licensed to practice in New York required; NJ and/or CT admission a plus but not required
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Must be a team player; willing to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Caring and compassionate attitude with clients
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills
  • Growth mindset – eager to become an invaluable member of the team
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional law firm setting
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Suite and demonstrated comfort with technology

  • High attention to detail and superior organizational skills

Position Details of the Plaintiff Personal Injury Litigation Associate:
  • Type of Role: Permanent
  • Schedule: Full-time
  • Location: New York, NY (hybrid)

Compensation
The base salary for this role is between $90,000 to $110,000 plus incentive bonus based upon performance. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials and location. In addition to salary, a competitive benefits package is also provided.
