Litigation Associate

Back to opportunities
This is not your parents’ law firm. If you have an infinity for musty-smelling law libraries and dark mahogany furniture passed down from prior generations of venerable lawyers, then just keep scrolling, because this law firm in Knoxville, TN boasts a modern aesthetic and attitude (as well as a broad variety of breakroom snacks and an office dog). Thriving under leadership from a dynamic team of mid-career lawyers, this firm is growing and looking for its next team member -- a litigation associate with 2+ years of prior law firm experience (no suit required).

The successful candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and have significant experience handling sophisticated general/commercial litigation matters and tasks, including pleadings, written discovery, deposition discovery, motion work, and court hearings.

This is a full-time and permanent position. Leadership sets clear, transparent expectations and offers opportunities for professional growth and promotion. If you desire to work in a law office where everyone gathers together for lunch on the daily and live in one of the South’s most vibrant big small towns (or small big towns) with a collegial legal community, thriving downtown, and eclectic arts/restaurant scene, all just a short drive away from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, then this is the position for you.

Qualifications of the Litigation Associate:
  • 2-6 years of prior litigation experience, preferably in a full-service law firm
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Capability and experience to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience handling general litigation matters is required
  • Licensed in Tennessee (or able to become licensed in TN)
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Outstanding references
Position Details of the Litigation Associate:

Compensation
