Latitude is seeking experienced financial services regulatory attorneys who are interested in working outside the “one size fits all” approach of a traditional legal career trajectory. Minimum Qualifications for the Financial Services Regulatory Attorney:
  • 5+ years of financial services regulatory and/or compliance experience
  • Thorough understanding of sophisticated financial products, including private funds, mutual funds and fixed and variable life insurance and annuity products
  • Experience reviewing, editing, and negotiating contracts for sophisticated financial services companies is highly preferred
  • Extensive experience advising investment companies, investment advisers and/or life insurance companies on compliance and regulatory matters related to sophisticated financial products (mutual funds, private funds, variable life insurance and annuities)
  • Prior experience at an AmLaw 200 corporate law firm or in the corporate legal department of a major company is preferred
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Licensed to practice law
  • Outstanding references
Position Details of the Financial Services Regulatory Attorney:  
  • Type of role: Contract engagement or engagement-to-hire
  • Schedule: Flexible (full-time, part-time or anywhere in between)
  • Location: Tampa-St. Pete Metropolitan Area (remote, hybrid, or on-site)
Compensation:
Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $150,000 to $200,000+ when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).

Benefits: In addition to pay, all Latitude Attorneys and other legal professionals working on contract engagements receive complimentary professional liability insurance coverage. All Latitude employees (including those on contract engagements) are also eligible for full benefits when working 20+ hours per week, including group medical, dental, and vision insurance, and complimentary group life, LTD and AD&D insurance. A qualified 401k plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
