Managing Counsel for Non-Profit Organization

Are you a litigator looking to use your skills to help people in your community? Do you love to litigate, but also enjoy inspiring, motivating, and managing others? Latitude is working with a non-profit organization to place a managing counsel for its Cookeville, Tennessee office. The attorney in this role will lead the office, having managerial and legal oversight responsibility for several attorneys and support staff, oversee day-to-day operations and process improvements, as well as manage an active case load. The ideal candidate for this role will have a deep commitment to equal access to the justice system and a passion for improving the lives of individuals in the community.

The managing counsel should have a background as an advocate in civil litigation as well as experience in a leadership/management role in a law firm or in-house legal department. Candidates must reside (or be willing to relocate) within a reasonable commuting distance of the organization’s Cookeville office.

Requirements for the Managing Counsel for Non-Profit Organization:
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience practicing law, including at least 4 years of experience in a managerial or leadership role in a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Knowledgeable on civil litigation matters
  • Demonstrated commitment to process and system improvements
  • Technologically adept in legal process matters
  • Impeccable leadership, professional judgment, organizational, and communication skills
  • Licensed to practice law
  • Outstanding professional references

Pay: The salary for this position ranges from $95,000 to $105,000 or more.

Pay is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials.

Benefits: In addition to pay, relocation and loan forgiveness benefits are available. Full medical, life, dental, vision, and disability insurance, as well as professional fees/development, retirement savings and generous PTO benefits are available.
