In-House Securities / Commercial Contracting Attorney (Part-Time Engagement)

Latitude is currently seeking an experienced Securities and Commercial Contracting Attorney for an in-house part-time contract engagement. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in securities law and commercial contracting while enjoying the flexibility of a part-time hybrid work arrangement.

In this role, you will provide critical legal guidance on securities matters, including compliance with SEC regulations, disclosures, public filings, and reporting obligations. You will also take the lead in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts. Experience in the payments industry is preferred but not required. This is a hybrid position based in New York, NY, with an anticipated requirement of no more than one day per week onsite.

Requirements for the Securities / Commercial Contracting Attorney:

5+ years of experience in securities and commercial contracting law
Ability work independently to provide strategic legal counsel to internal teams on commercial and securities-related issues
Strong knowledge of SEC regulations, public filings, and commercial contract law
Excellent analytical and communication skills
Payments and commerce experience is preferred but not required
Exceptional communication, drafting, and negotiation skills
J.D. from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in New York, or ability to register as in-house counsel in New York
Outstanding references required

Position Details of the Securities / Commercial Contracting Attorney:

Type of role: Contract Engagement
Schedule: Estimated 20 - 25 hours/week
Location: Hybrid (up to one day per week onsite in New York, NY)

Compensation:

Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $170,000 to $200,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).

Benefits: In addition to pay, all Latitude Attorneys and other legal professionals working on contract engagements receive complimentary professional liability insurance coverage. All Latitude employees (including those on contract engagements) are also eligible for full benefits when working 20+ hours per week, including group medical, dental, and vision insurance, and complimentary group life, LTD and AD&D insurance. A qualified 401k plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
