Managing Counsel for Shareholder Litigation (Part-Time In-House Contract Position)

Latitude has an excellent contract/engagement opportunity in-house with an international energy company managing outside counsel that are handling shareholder litigation matters. This attorney will lead and manage outside counsel and serve as a partner and resource for in-house business leaders. Duties of this role will include: overseeing a substantial docket of shareholder litigation matters; providing legal guidance and advice on shareholder litigation matters, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations; partnering with internal business and operations leaders; and managing outside counsel. This opportunity requires at least eight years of relevant litigation experience as well as four years of managing counsel experience. Candidates must reside (or be willing to relocate) within a reasonable commuting distance of the company’s Houston offices as this is a hybrid position. This is a part-time (15 to 30 hours per week) position. This is a great opportunity for an attorney who enjoys managing litigation as part of an in-house position but only wants to work part-time hours.

Requirements for Managing Counsel for Shareholder Litigation (In-House):
  • A minimum of 8 or more years of relevant litigation experience in law firm and/or in-house roles
  • A minimum of 4 or more years of experience managing a legal team
  • Impeccable leadership, professional judgment, organizational, and communication skills
  • Excellent academic credentials from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law or eligible to practice in-house in Texas
  • Outstanding professional references

  • Type of role: Contract
  • Schedule: Part-time (15 to 30 hours)
  • Location: Hybrid (minimum of two days in the office in Houston, Texas)
Compensation:

Pay: The annualized compensation for this position ranges from $200,000 to $230,000 or more. Pay is based on numerous factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials and location. In addition to salary, Latitude Engaged Professionals are W2 employees of Latitude and are eligible for full benefits when working in roles for 20 hours per week, including a Qualified 401k plan. Benefits-eligible Latitude employees receive complimentary Group Life, LTD and AD&D and professional liability insurance. Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
