Latitude has a corporate client looking for an experienced labor and employment attorney with litigation experience.  This is a unique opportunity for an employment attorney to join a dynamic legal department and to be the point person for the HR department, handling a variety of employment matters including litigation.   Qualified candidates must be able to step in and hit the ground running at a high level.  This is an interim full-time contract position, but it has the potential to convert to a permanent position. Hybrid in a suburb of Minneapolis. 
Requirements for L & E Attorney (In-House, Hybrid, Contract):
  • 7+ years of experience advising on labor and employment matters, preferably with an Am Law 200 law firm or boutique employment law firm, and/or in-house legal department
  • Experience handling employment litigation matters is required, and general litigation experience is a plus 
  • Experience providing legal analysis and counsel to a HR department on a wide array of employment matters
  • Experience handling EEOC claims, wrongful termination claims, and other L & E litigation matters 
  • Demonstrated capability to develop strong client partnership with a company’s HR team
  • Excellent academic credentials from an accredited law school
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding professional references
  • Active law license in good standing 
Position Details for the L & E Litigation Attorney (In-House, Hybrid, Contract):
  • Type of Role: Engagement Contract with potential to convert to permanent
  • Schedule: Full-time 
  • Location: Hybrid in suburb of Minneapolis
  • Compensation & Benefits: competitive and commensurate with experience
Compensation: 
Pay: The annualized pay for this contract position ranges from $170,000 to $200,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract roles is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).
Benefits: In addition to pay, all Latitude contract professionals receive complimentary professional liability insurance coverage. Latitude contract professionals are usually W2 employees of Latitude and are eligible for full benefits when working in roles for 20 hours per week. Benefits-eligible Latitude contract professionals receive complimentary Group Life, LTD and AD&D. A qualified 401k plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
