Latitude is assisting a consumer-focused company with a culture of excellence that is adding an Assistant General Counsel to its lean legal department. This is an ideal role for a litigation attorney to move in-house and grow their in-house generalist skillset. Responsibilities include conducting research and advising on a wide variety of legal issues, reviewing outside counsel bills, assisting with litigation management, drafting and revising commercial contracts, providing day-to-day counsel to the HR Department, drafting and advising on employment and corporate policies, and providing sage advice to partners within the organization. The successful candidate must have outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written; a writing sample will be required. This is a hybrid position where you will spend 4 days/week in-office in the company’s Cool Springs/Franklin office with the option to work from home on Fridays.
Requirements for the In-House Assistant General Counsel:
8+ years of experience practicing law; including 5+ years of litigation experience
High emotional intelligence and excellent analytical, research, and interpersonal skills
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (a writing sample is required)
Experience with negotiation and conflict resolution
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Technologically proficient with MS Office and Google programs
JD from an ABA-accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in Tennessee (or eligible for in-house exemption)
Outstanding professional references

Compensation: Pay: The base salary range for this role is $140,000 to $150,000 with bonus potential. Pay is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, and location.
