We are working with a Nashville-area law firm seeking an experienced commercial litigation attorney to provide litigation support on a part-time remote contract basis. The ideal candidate will have excellent academic credentials and a strong background in legal research and writing, with extensive experience drafting motions, briefs, pleadings, and memoranda. This role is perfect for an attorney who excels in high-level analytical and writing tasks, and who is seeking an alternative to a traditional full-time law firm role. Experience handling insurance defense litigation, construction disputes, breach of contract matters, and other business disputes is strongly preferred. Excellent writing skills are a must, and a writing sample will be required.
This commercial litigation attorney role is a remote contract engagement, and preference will be given to candidates licensed and located in Tennessee. The ideal candidate will have availability to work at least 10 hours per week or more, with the ability to flex up to 30 hours per week if needed.
Basic Requirements for the Commercial Litigation Attorney:
6+ years of law firm experience litigating commercial matters in state and federal court
Prior experience drafting and responding to written discovery
Strong legal research and writing skills
Ability to draft motions and other pleadings with minimal supervision
Excellent academic credentials from an ABA-accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in TN preferred, or the ability to work remotely for a law firm located in Tennessee under state bar rules for the applicable state of licensure

Compensation:
Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $170,000 to $190,000 or more when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate, which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).
Benefits: In addition to pay, all Latitude Attorneys and other legal professionals working on contract engagements receive complimentary professional liability insurance coverage. All Latitude employees (including those on contract engagements) are also eligible for full benefits when working 20+ hours per week, including group medical, dental, and vision insurance, and complimentary group life, LTD and AD&D insurance. A qualified 401k plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
