Job Overview:
We are seeking a proactive, experienced, and detail-oriented FDA Regulatory Attorney with a strong background in the Food and Beverage industry. This fully remote role is ideal for an attorney with deep experience advising on regulatory compliance matters involving the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), particularly in connection with food labeling, marketing, ingredient reviews, GRAS determinations, dietary supplements, food safety, and enforcement actions. The successful candidate will provide legal counsel on a broad range of FDA regulatory issues and assist with strategic risk assessments, product development, and market entry for food and beverage products.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, sound regulatory judgment, and a thorough understanding of FDA laws and guidance applicable to food and beverage products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic legal advice and counsel on FDA regulatory matters related to food and beverage products.
  • Review and advise on product labeling, packaging, marketing, and advertising for regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct regulatory due diligence and risk assessments for new product development and market expansion.
  • Advise on compliance with FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act), food additive regulations, and recalls.
  • Monitor FDA developments and help clients navigate new regulations or enforcement priorities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including R&D, marketing, and compliance teams, as well as outside consultants and co-counsel.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school
  • Licensure: Must be licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in FDA regulatory law with a focus on food and beverage matters. Prior experience advising consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies, dietary supplement manufacturers, or food and beverage brands is strongly preferred.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Deep understanding of FDA regulations, FSMA, food labeling laws, and related federal and state requirements
  • Strong legal research, writing, and risk analysis skills
  • Ability to manage multiple regulatory matters with minimal oversight
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines
  • Practical, business-oriented mindset and strong attention to detail
Compensation:

Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $180,000 to $220,000, or more depending on seniority and experience. Final compensation is based on several factors including work experience, qualifications, and credentials.
