Our client, a single-family office, is seeking a mid-level paralegal to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of experience working in a wealth management business or a bank/trust focusing on corporate law, investment analysis and/or trusts and estates work. A strong understanding of corporate compliance, trust and partnership structures, investment vehicles, financial statements, estate planning, and probate law is required. The paralegal will be responsible for assisting the General Counsel and the Investment Director in handling legal, investment, and operational matters including wealth management, public and private investments, and estate planning.
Responsibilities for the In-House Corporate Investment Paralegal:
Document and track key contractual and compliance dates
Track and monitor investor/shareholder rights for direct investments
Facilitate execution of documents through DocuSign; assist in maintaining full set of final and executed legal documents
Data entry for private fund investments such as market values, capital calls, distributions, and saving fund and brokerage statements
Daily reporting reconciliation
Create and maintain portal and data-room credentials
Form entities, maintain entity and trusts databases, and maintain corporate books and records
Corporate compliance, including formation filings, annual reports, and consents
Prepare necessary certificates of designation, resolutions, and consents
Manage trust accounts, including preparing documentation for banks and custodians, recordkeeping and documenting distributions to beneficiaries
Coordinate with outside counsel, financial advisors and other professionals involved in estate planning
Requirements for the In-House Corporate Investment Paralegal:
Paralegal Certificate Required; Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, or business preferred
6+ years of experience as wealth management, investment/corporate, and/or trusts & estates paralegal, preferably at a family office, a bank/trust or other in-house investment organization
Strong understanding of corporate law, including corporate compliance, trust and partnership structures, and investment vehicles
Knowledge of trusts/estate planning and probate law
Familiarity with financial statements and investment analysis
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Ability to manage time and tasks effectively
Excellent research and analytical skills
Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and proofreading skills
Solid interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills to interact with clients, attorneys, and other professionals
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) proficiency

Compensation:
Pay: The salary range for this role ranges from $75,000 to $100,000, or more. Pay is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, and location.
