Latitude is seeking an experienced Mid-Level Litigation Associate to join a premier, mid-size California-based law firm in its San Diego office on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a unique opportunity for a driven associate to take on meaningful responsibility in complex business disputes spanning a wide range of industries, such as employment, entertainment, real estate, and more. This firm’s mid-size structure means no “cogs in the wheel” in that associates work shoulder-to-shoulder with nationally recognized trial lawyers and are given genuine opportunities to develop their skills and advance toward partnership.  This is a hybrid role (3 days per week in-office). 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Workup: Ownership of all phases of commercial litigation, from fact investigation to final resolution.
  • Drafting & Advocacy: Prepare pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses, argue motions and attend court hearings.
  • Client Engagement: Serve as the direct point of contact for both corporate and individual clients.
  • Depositions & Trial: Conduct and defend depositions, assist with trial preparation, strategy sessions, and take active role in trials and other proceedings.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with partners and junior attorneys on case strategy and execution; help mentor more junior team members.
  • Business Mindset: Contribute to firm growth by collaborating with marketing and business development professionals to build a sustainable client pipeline.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • 5+ years of litigation experience, preferably in employment, intellectual property, real estate, and construction.
  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of litigation, including motion practice, depositions, expert discovery, written discovery, trial prep and trial
  • Strong writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Proactive, collaborative mindset with the confidence to take initiative and drive matters forward.
  • California Bar admission required.
  • Excellent academic background.
Position Details for the Mid-Level Litigation Associate (Permanent):

Compensation:
  • Pay: The salary range for this role is $230,000 - $305,000, plus applicable bonuses. Pay is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials.
  • Benefits: In addition to pay, a competitive benefits package is also provided, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) and generous leave policies.
