CA Junior Litigation Associate Attorney

San Diego-based law firm is looking to engage a CA-licensed Junior Associate Litigation Attorney with at least 3 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a business and real estate background, but candidates with general litigation experience and an interest in developing a business/real estate practice area will be considered as well.   

In close collaboration with the firm’s litigation team, the Associate will be responsible for managing a diverse array of cases and will report directly to the firm’s Partners.  This is a hands-on role involving the full scope of litigation work, from legal research/writing and written discovery to deposition and dispositive motion hearings, and will have an active involvement in trial prep under the oversight of the firm's Partners.  This is a Remote position, and the firm is open to a variety of engagement structures—including contract or contract-to-hire—depending on the Candidate’s goals and fit. 
 

Requirements: 

  • 3+ years of litigation experience 

  • Background in business and real estate matters preferred 

  • Experience with all aspects of pre-trial litigation (legal research and writing, motions, depos, hearings, settlement negotiations), as well as trial prep 

  • Strong communication, technology, and organizational skills 

  • Excellent client interface capabilities 

  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing in California 

  • J.D. from an accredited law school

  • Outstanding references 

Position Details:

Compensation: 

  • Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $120,000 to $180,000 or more when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position). 

  • Benefits: In addition to salary, Latitude Engaged Professionals are W2 employees of Latitude and are eligible for full benefits when working in roles for 20 hours per week, including a Qualified 401k plan. Benefits-eligible Latitude employees receive complimentary Group Life, LTD and AD&D and professional liability insurance. Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
