In-House Fractional Biopharmaceutical Contracts Counsel with Legal Ops. Acumen (Remote) (Engagement)

Latitude is seeking an experienced in-house contracts counsel to support a dynamic and fast-paced biopharmaceutical company on a fractional contract engagement. This position focuses on commercial contracts with a strong overlay of legal operations responsibilities—ideal for an attorney who thrives in a fast-moving environment and can deliver high-quality work product with minimal oversight.

This is a fully remote role and offers substantial WFH flexibility.

This in-house counsel role is perfect for a detail-oriented, self-motivated contracts lawyer with experience in the life sciences or pharmaceutical sector. The successful candidate will support overflow contract drafting, negotiation, and organization work—freeing up internal legal team members to focus on strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate combines a strong grasp of contract law with a systems-oriented mindset, and has experience in or aptitude for managing legal processes and tools.


Position Details of the Fractional In-House Biopharmaceuticals Contracts Counsel:

  • Type of role: Contract In-House Engagement
  • Schedule: Fractional (i.e., < 20hrs./week)
  • Duration: Long Term (i.e., year +)
  • Location: Fully Remote


Responsibilities Include:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a high volume of vendor, services, clinical trial, confidentiality, and consulting agreements

  • Maintaining, organizing, and improving the company’s contract management systems and workflows

  • Supporting the in-house legal team by ensuring timely and efficient delivery of contract services

  • Working cross-functionally with internal business units and stakeholders to shepherd contracts through review and execution

  • Contributing to the development of templates, playbooks, and legal operations best practices


Basic Requirements for the Fractional In-House Biopharmaceuticals Contracts Attorney:

  • 4+ years of experience practicing law, including substantial commercial contracts experience

  • Experience working in or with the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or broader life sciences industry

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large volume of agreements efficiently and with attention to detail

  • Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools or legal operations platforms preferred

  • Excellent academic credentials from an ABA-accredited law school

  • Excellent analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • Outstanding professional references


Compensation

Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $200,000 to $275,000 or more when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).

 

Benefits: Benefits: Latitude contract professionals are usually W2 employees of Latitude and are eligible for full benefits when working in roles for 20 hours per week. Benefits-eligible Latitude contract professionals receive complimentary Group Life, LTD and AD&D. A qualified 401k plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
