Sara is a Director of Legal Recruiting and Placement and works out of the company’s St. Louis office.

Sara brings more than 15 years of legal experience spanning corporate governance, securities, and complex transactions. Most recently, she served as Corporate Governance and Securities Counsel at Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated (NYSE: RGA), where she provided counsel on board and subsidiary governance matters, advised on commercial and corporate issues and transactions, and led the drafting and filing of public-company securities disclosures, including the proxy statement and all Section 16 filings. In addition to her advisory work, she built and led an in-house legal internship program and developed internal training initiatives designed to strengthen the legal team’s talent pipeline. 

Sara started her legal career in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Finance and Securities groups of Am Law 100 firm Bryan Cave LLP. There, she represented public and private companies in a wide range of M&A transactions and negotiated complex commercial agreements in support of strategic business objectives. 

In addition to her legal practice, Sara founded and leads Run Wild My Child, an online platform and print magazine focused on helping families spend more time outside. Through this work, she developed strong business and leadership skills, including online marketing, sales, team management, content strategy, SEO, and brand partnerships.  

Sara earned her J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law and her B.A. in English from the University of Missouri. She lives in Kirkwood with her husband, attorney Ryan McCarty, and their three children.  

Sara is an avid reader, writer, photographer, and loves to cook. She can usually be found outside with her kids fly fishing, skiing, hiking, floating, duck hunting, creeking, biking, or traveling.
